Floods in Pakistan have affected around 33 million people and caused at least 1,343 deaths, the country's National Disaster Management Agency said. Water levels in the country's biggest lake are starting to recede after monsoon rain caused it to be dangerously full, officials said. Damaged infrastructure has been hampering aid and rescue operations, which cannot keep pace with demand.
