Finland
Finland was the only country to rank in the top 12 for all five of Save the Children's well-being indicators for mothers. With its strong education and health care systems, high levels of economic and political opportunity for women -- women make up over 40 percent of the Finnish parliament -- and low mother and child mortality rates, Finland came in first in this year's State of the World's Mothers index.
