U.S. is the world's leading regime-changer
Alexander Downes has a good piece studying the history of regime change and whether it works. You really should read in full but I'll pull out this:
'Regime change is nothing new to the United States. Since the defeat of Napoleon in 1815, the United States has been the worldâ??s foremost practitioner. Of the roughly one hundred cases of externally imposed regime change in that period, the United States has been responsible for more than twenty. These are only the â??successfulâ? attempts.'
Talk about exceptionalism! And you would think with all this practice we'd have gotten it down by now...
