When the USS Carney and other civilian ships recently came under attack in the Red Sea, the Carney reportedly opened fire to protect itself and these ships. Shortly after, Yemeni Houthi rebels released a statement claiming drone and missile attacks on two Israeli vessels, the Unity Explorer and Number 9, both in the Red Sea. These container ships were on peaceful missions, bound for Singapore and Egypt, respectively.
