President Obama recently announced an ambitious new energy goal: a one-third reduction in oil imports by 2025. The president's strategy includes increased electric car production, natural gas conversion for trucks, and strengthened fuel-efficiency standards--political mandates all.
These intrusive maneuvers are, of course, all in search of that great political talisman in this country: energy independence.
