It's an odd thing about the way this campaign has so far played out: Mr. Harper's unofficial - and unwanted - advisors in the media keep telling him that he needs to change his script. Be more friendly. Try to look like you're having fun. Don't talk about an opposition coalition that doesn't exist. The Prime Minister, though, is having none of that. And, judging by the polls, it seems to be working.
