High-level American officials are meeting their Indian counterparts in the inaugural round of the US-India strategic dialogue. This wide-ranging dialogue will cement our bipartisan consensus that India's rise is in America's national interest. This visit is one in a series of firsts: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was guest of honour at President Barack Obama's first state dinner. And this fall, Obama will be the first American president in over 30 years to visit India during his initial term in office.
