Travel and writing obligations have kept me from responding to the flurry of thoughtful reaction to my Fox News op-ed on “Three Strikes Against U.S. Global Presence.” In that piece, I tried to forecast how current domestic spending trends and possible changes in basing relations with our key allies Britain and Japan would affect American power and ability to maintain a global role in the future.
