According to a study produced by the London School of Economics and the consulting firm LECG for Nokia/Siemens, Canada ranked ninth in the world in its "useful connectivity" - a mix of data that includes home and mobile Internet connections. The Canadian government under Prime Minister Stephen Harper is currently examining how to open up its telecommunications sector to more private and foreign investment to foster more competition and encourage greater innovation.
