No. 9 Saskatoon
Dangerous Canadian city? It's not an oxymoron, unfortuately. Even the U.S.'s serene neighbors up north face problems of violent crime. Saskatoon, the largest city of Saskatchewan, headed several western Canadian cities atop Maclean's magazine's list. Regina, the provincial capital, is third on the list. Saskatoon earned such infamy by placing first in aggravated assault and robbery, fourth in homicide and sexual assault, 20th in breaking and entering, and 21st in vehicle theft among Canadian cities. The tourism industry of Saskatchewan (if there is such a thing) probably isn't too pleased with Maclean's. In the 2008 rankings, the magazine had Regina and Saskatoon placing 1-2.
