European Union
Though not a country, the European Union came closer than many may appreciate to banning all pornography across all media back in March. EU MPs, in their earnest efforts to combat "negative gender stereotypes" in the media, called for banning pornography in language vague enough that some feared it also encompassed flirty text messages and emails. When a bill did pass the European Parliament, it sidestepped the banning of porn, though it did target advertising for sex tourism.
