Germany has a strong culture of stay-at-home motherhood, as evidenced by the country's youngest female minister, Kristina Schroder, who caught flack for returning to work a mere 10 weeks after her child was born. Nonetheless, Germany scored well on the number of women participating in political life as well as for its low child mortality rate.
